Our Mission

Science Careers is dedicated to being the world leader in matching qualified scientists with jobs in industry, academia, and government. We are committed to providing all the necessary career resources for scientists as well as effective recruiting solutions for employers. Our mission supports the American Association for the Advancement of Science's (AAAS's) commitment to furthering careers in science and technology.

Who We Are

The journal Science is one of the most prestigious and widely cited scientific journals in the world. Founded by Thomas Edison in 1880, Science has been publishing breaking news and seminal research for more than 125 years. Science Careers is the careers component of Science that scientists rely on for career information and job postings. Both Science and Science Careers are produced by AAAS, the world’s largest nonprofit membership association for science-related professionals. Science has a qualified weekly print circulation greater than 129,000. When you add in pass-along readership, Science reaches more than 700,000 readers each week. Science Careers averages 3.3 million monthly page requests.

Our Merger with Next Wave

Recent market research was conducted to improve Science Careers. The newly redesigned Web site has expanded to include Science’s Next Wave content. Originally two separate sites, visitors can now enjoy free access to thousands of articles from Next Wave accessible from the Science Careers home page. These combined resources allow for one-stop easy access to all of the great career resources offered by these sites. Science Careers now includes an average of more than 2900 job postings that are updated daily, career advice articles written by the Next Wave editors, graduate program information, meetings and event information, funding opportunities on GrantsNet, and a Career Forum where scientists can get free advice about career-related issues from veteran advisers. By combining these sites, Science Careers and its editorial voice, Next Wave, work together to offer the best scientific information out there. All for free.

Whether it's career advice or the latest job opportunities, scientists can count on Science Careers to provide the best resources to help further their scientific careers. Employers can reach the best and brightest scientists who visit the site regularly to utilize all these great features.
